Where there is light, there is movement,
and where there is movement, there is story. "Gaylan Nazhad"
About The Workshop
Thailand is a country layered with rhythm, ritual, and radiant light. From Bangkok’s canals and bustling markets to the cliffs of Krabi and the twilight coastline of Phuket, this immersive ten-day workshop invites participants to document the country’s social and cultural life with a cinematic and artistic approach, focusing on observation, light, composition, and emotion. Participants will learn to photograph what is felt as much as what is seen, translating atmosphere and human interaction into expressive visual narratives.
Guided by Gaylan Nazhad, participants will explore urban and coastal environments, capturing people, landscapes, and everyday life while developing a personal visual language. The workshop emphasises patience, intention, and sequencing, turning a series of images into a cohesive documentary story that reflects both reality and artistic vision.
Workshop Overview
Over ten days, participants will combine urban, landscape, and human-centred photography into a documentary narrative as an art form. Through guided shoots, discussions, critiques, and one-to-one mentoring, participants will refine technical control, compositional skill, and cinematic storytelling, transforming observations of everyday life into expressive, meaningful images.
